What are the features of a geared motor?
A gear reduction motor is a type of motor that uses the planetary drive principle and gear meshing. In most cases, this type of reduction motor has replaced two-stage or three-stage standard cylindrical gear reduction motors and cylindrical worm gear reduction motors. It has the following features:
1. Driving efficiency: Since the meshing parts use rolling contact, the efficiency of a single stage is generally 90%–95%.
2. Compact structure, small size, and light weight: Compared to ordinary cylindrical gear reducers, planetary reduction motors can reduce size by about 1/2 to 2/3.
3. Fewer faults and long lifespan: The main meshing parts are made from bearing steel and ground, so both mechanical properties and wear resistance are excellent. Plus, because it uses rolling friction, there are fewer failures and longer service life.
4. Smooth and reliable operation: Multiple teeth mesh during driving, making the operation smooth and reliable with low noise.
5. Easy to disassemble and maintain.
6. Strong overload capacity, impact resistance, and low inertia torque, making it suitable for frequent starts and forward/reverse operations.
7. High reduction ratio: Single-stage reduction gives a ratio of 1/6–1/87; two-stage reduction gives 1/99–1/7569; three-stage reduction gives 1/5841–1/658503. Additionally, multiple stages can be combined as needed to achieve the desired speed ratio.
